Free is an ongoing US$0/month plan with 500 AI credits per month. It remains available after onboarding; upgrading is optional.
Monthly allowances:
- 500 AI credits per month
- Up to 125 hours of Cloud Computer per month
- 45 minutes of Chrome-time per month
- 250 automation runs per month
Limitations:
- One browser session at a time
- Access to models available on the Free plan; paid-plan models require Pro
- Zero Data Retention routing is not included; AI providers may retain prompts and responses under their applicable policies

If an allowance is exhausted, affected work must wait until that allowance is restored or resets, or you upgrade. Your profile shows remaining usage and reset timing.

### Can I keep using Surf for free?
Free is an ongoing US$0/month plan with 500 AI credits per month. It remains available after onboarding; upgrading is optional. It includes 500 AI credits, up to 125 hours of Cloud Computer, 45 minutes of Chrome-time, and 250 automation runs per month. Free supports one browser session at a time and Free-plan models. Zero Data Retention routing is not included.

### What happens when I reach a Free limit?
AI credits, computer time, browser time, and automation runs are separate allowances. A task needs enough of each allowance it uses. If an allowance is exhausted, affected work must wait until that allowance is restored or resets, or you upgrade. Your profile shows remaining usage and reset timing.

### What does Pro cost?
Pro is US$20 per month, billed monthly. The card above shows the included AI credits, Cloud Computer time, Chrome-time, and background tasks.

### What are credits?
Credits measure AI usage. The amount a task uses varies with its model, complexity, context, and tool work. The task counts shown are approximate examples of how the same allowance might be used, rather than separate quotas you can add together.

### How are computer time and Chrome-time different?
Cloud Computer is the environment Surf uses to work with files, run tools, and build things. Chrome-time is the browser allowance for navigating and interacting with websites. These are tracked separately from AI credits; an AI credit balance does not describe all available usage.

### Can I get Max today?
Max is coming soon. The listed benefits are a preview. Its price, launch date, and computer allowance have not been announced, and checkout is not available.

### Where do I upgrade or manage billing?
Open your profile in the workspace and choose Wallet & billing. You can review usage, upgrade, or open the available billing controls there. Upgrading during onboarding opens the same checkout flow.

### Do I need a paid plan to connect tools?
Tools are available on Free and paid plans, subject to your authorization and usage limits. A subscription does not authorize Surf to access an account you have not connected.

### Does a paid plan change AI-provider retention?
Zero Data Retention routing is a paid-plan benefit. Free does not include a zero-retention guarantee. Provider retention is separate from information stored in your HeySurf workspace or by connected services. See the Privacy Policy for the details.
